John upholds integrity and cares about his clients. He values family and as such – knows how you want to protect not only yourself, but your family if things go wrong. It is important to him to develop a relationship with you, to understand your needs, wants and lifestyle so that he can tailor a package to suit your needs. As part of this process he finds out personal information out about you – it is only fitting for him to share a little bit about himself too.
John is an avid waterman, adventurer and family man. Having grown up in Melbourne he took many trips on the weekend to Lorne and the Ocean road in the 60’s and 70’s to chase waves with his friends and brothers.
He met Ruth in 1970, married in 1972 and moved from Melbourne to Anglesea in 1975 before the saying “sea- change” was heard of.
They bought a block of land for $13,000 and built their home where they raised their four daughters.
Having become a qualified accountant, and managing Quicksilver for a number of years, John had felt the need for a change. Stumbling on insurances, he soon released that this was a satisfying and fulfilling career parth for him. He enjoyed helping others understand something that was complicated and also empathized with making sure his clients were covered if anything was to happen. He also enjoyed setting up and running his own business. Working when he chose to, and also being able to run a business exactly to his customer service values.
Now John works with a select number of clients giving them personalized service and attention. Making sure he has the ability to be there in their time of need.
When he is not working he loves surfing, scuba diving and fishing on his boat, cycling, listening to music, drinking good wine, eating good food, spending time with his wife Ruth (now married for over 40 years), his daughters and grandsons whom he adores. He loves traveling and new experiences, and cooking BBQ’s (as an active member of the Lion’s club). He is excited to now share his love of the ocean and traveling with his grandsons, and enjoys looking after them when he can… and has actually changed a few nappies in his time!!
